Dr. John S. Wilson is the Vice President of Behavioral Health at Centurion Health. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Duke University, is licensed as a psychologist in Virginia and New York, and received training in forensic psychology through the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the University of Virginia?s Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy. Dr. Wilson was among the first group of correctional behavioral health professionals to be credentialed as a Certified Correctional Health Professional in Mental Health (CCHP-MH) by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. He has served on academic faculties in New York and Virginia and as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Correctional Health Care and other peer-reviewed journals. He has published articles on behavioral health, healthcare, and suicide prevention in corrections. He has chaired work groups on suicide prevention, use of psychotropic medications by primary care physicians in corrections, and quality improvement in correctional settings. He serves on a medical furlough advisory committee for a Centurion contract and helped implement a company-wide initiative to measure behavioral health outcomes.
