110 Saving Lives and Improving Outcomes with Technology
Description

Health care and custody professionals work tirelessly as a team to deliver efficient, effective care to people in custody. Many patients enter our facilities with untreated chronic conditions, mental health needs, and substance use disorders. At the same time, staffing shortages in both custody and medical roles continue to stretch resources as teams strive to maintain safety and high-quality care. Over the past five to 10 years, new technologies have emerged to support this work by improving timeliness, coordination, and clinical decision-making. This presentation will highlight recent technological advancements and demonstrate how they can save lives and reduce adverse outcomes in today’s jails.
