Dr. Scott LePor is a family physician based in Austin, Texas. He is a husband, father, and foster and adoptive parent. Through his experiences as a foster parent, he pursued additional training through the Texas Christian University Institute of Child Development to support children who have experienced trauma using the evidence-based neuroscience of trust-based relational intervention. He now shares this training through lectures and workshops for foster and adoptive parents and for health care and judicial professionals across organizations and state agencies. Dr. LePor serves as medical director of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He also contributes to multiple state initiatives, including the Texas Health and Human Services Commission cross-systems trauma-informed workgroup, the statewide behavioral health coordinating council, and the judicial commission on mental health.
