Medications for opioid use disorder are widely unavailable within the criminal justice system, despite OUD’s high prevalence. Limited resources, such as staffing, create barriers to care particularly for daily administration. Buprenorphine extended-release monthly subcutaneous depot (BUP-XR) can reduce staff time and resources. This study assessed staffing costs associated with administering different MOUDs within the United States criminal justice system.
