RT-06 Providing Affirming Care in Corrections: A Multidisciplinary Approach
Description
Providing client-centered care in a dynamic affirming way is challenging. Barriers include provider bias, desensitization, and burnout. Discussion will focus on creating an environment of trust, strategies to involve all disciplines in the process of client-centered care, and awareness of “hot-button” issues such as working with transgender and gender diverse individuals.
