Mr. Robert Simon is director of accreditation for the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, responsible for the accreditation process involving mental health, medication-assisted treatment and opioid treatment programs. He has over 25 years of experience as a clinician and administrator in a variety of settings, including substance use disorder services and opioid treatment programs. For the past 19 years Mr. Simon has provided correctional health care leadership and oversight to large complex operations, including county, state, and federal systems. He has consulted with jurisdictions to improve outcomes when correctional and mental health services intersect, served as a subject matter expert to create mental health policy, and championed efforts to reduce recidivism and improve continuity of care for individuals involved in criminal justice systems.
