Dr. Krystin Holmes is the program manager of the Jail-Based Competency Restoration Program, a collaborative partnership with the Harris County Sheriff's Office and The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. She has been in community mental health since 2013 after earning her master's degree in counseling, specializing in marriage and family therapy. Dr. Holmes then continued on to pursue her PhD in counselor education. While enrolled in her academic programs, Dr. Holmes has served in adult mental health, inpatient acute care, juvenile forensic populations, outpatient clinic administration, crisis service collaborations with law enforcement, and presently forensic mental health patients. Dr. Holmes remains active in private practice, academia, and research, in order to bring more awareness to underserved populations.
