Time for Real Talk: A Conversation About COVID-19, Racial Disparities, and Corrections

Since the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, communities of color have had a heavier burden. COVID-19 has exposed searing inequities within society’s institutions, including U.S. correctional facilities. The pandemic’s disproportionate impact on Black and Hispanic communities underscores existing racial disparities within criminal law, societal resources, and health care.
In this thought-provoking conversation, Dr. Nunez Smith and Ms. Hagan discuss how our country can address health inequities, meet the needs of vulnerable populations, and reduce the disproportionate racial effects of the pandemic, in
corrections and in society at large.
