Dr. Justin White is an associate professor at New Mexico State University in the School of Nursing and a board certified family psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner as well as a licensed clinical social worker and certified nurse educator. He has primary teaching responsibilities in the graduate nursing programs including the doctoral program as well as the nurse practitioner programs. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he maintains active clinical practice as a family psychiatric nurse practitioner with children, adolescents, and adults in New Mexico providing psychiatric services to incarcerated youth in the Juvenile Justice Services division of Children, Youth and Families Department as well as  working in psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient psychiatric units. His primary interests surround teaching and the provision of psychiatric care to patients in rural and underserved areas, the integration of primary care and mental health care.
