Mrs. Susan Laffan has been a presenter at NCCHC conferences for 20 years. She has worked as a nurse in emergency, critical care, and correctional specialties for over 35 years. Mrs. Laffan has had over 40 articles published and authored a chapter in the Essentials of Correctional Nursing textbook. She has been on the CCHP Board, the CCHP-RN task group, and the chairperson for the Academy of Correctional Professionals. Mrs. Laffan has recently published a book, "Emergency Departments, Jails, and the Streets: Stories That Shaped My Career."
