Ms. Alison O. Jordan serves as an American Public Health Association (APHA) liaison to the NCCHC, and NCCHC representative to the Academy of Correctional Health Professionals. She is an APHA governing councilor and coordinator of the Justice-Impacted and Incarcerated Health committee. She is an internationally recognized correctional public health professional with over 25 years senior government and health system management experience including 16 years designing and developing reentry and continuity services at New York City Correctional Health Services. Ms. Jordan led the implementation, evaluation, replication and adaptation of Transitional Care Coordination, an evidence-informed intervention to facilitate linkages to community care after incarceration in NYC, Camden, Raleigh, Las Vegas and across the islands of Puerto Rico. This work extended to NYC jail visitors, where she helped create, implement and evaluate a successful overdose prevention program. Since April 2014, the program has distributed 60,000 doses of intranasal naloxone. As co-owner of ACOJA Consulting LLC, a certified minority/women-owned business enterprise, she provides training, technical assistance and guidance to government agencies, research organizations, correctional health and social service programs.
