Mr. Stephen Amos is the Chief of the Jails Division at the National Institute of Corrections within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). He has directed frontline training, technical assistance, information dissemination, program planning, and policy development for the past six years in support of the nation's jails and detention facilities at the federal, state, local, and tribal levels. His executive leadership experience includes serving in the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics; the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; the State of Maryland Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention; the Oregon Department of Corrections, and as deputy director of the DOJ's Corrections Program Office.
