Dr. Melissa Caldwell holds a doctorate in clinical/community psychology. She is as practicing clinical-forensic psychologist and the president of Freedom Behavioral Health, Inc. She has over 25 years of experience working with correctional and forensic populations as a researcher and practitioner in state psychiatric and correctional facilities, as well as experience as an expert witness. She serves on several committees whose missions are to improve the quality of mental health care in correctional and forensic settings. She is frequently requested as a speaker on the state and national level on issues of mental health issues in jails and detention facilities.
