Mrs. Susan E. Conley, Director of Community Health for the Delaware Department of Correction holds a Master's of Science in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health from University of Delaware. She is certified in gerontological nursing. She moved to corrections four years ago after a 20-plus year career in an acute care post-surgical hospital setting. Currently Mrs. Conley's duties involve supervision and oversight of four post-acute care infirmaries, and 300+ contract provider staff in the delivery of health care across nine facilities. In addition, she provides input into policy and process development. She is passionate about electronic health record review and improvement for end users as well as data extraction for reporting, patient advocacy, patient education, informed consent, palliative care, and end-of-life planning. In 2019, her first year in correctional health, Mrs. Conley was awarded the Delaware DOC employee of the year, and in 2020, she received a bureau commendation for her service during COVID-19.
