Mrs. Corie Cruz-Beniasians is a physician assistant by training and has worked in several medical specialties including internal medicine, occupational medicine, urgent care, and HIV treatment and prevention. She has dedicated over a decade to working in and with the LGBTQ+ community as well as other underserved communities to improve access to equitable health care. Mrs. Cruz-Beniasians moved to Florida six years ago from southern California to continue her efforts of providing care to gender and racial minorities. She co-founded World of Women, a support group or safe space catering specifically to women of color and providing a bias-free, judgement-free, supportive space to discuss topics of health and health care, including HIV management and prevention. She has also served as an adjunct professor, helping create and lecture on an LGBTQ+ health care curriculum in two different physician assistant programs in Florida. She is a requested speaker at local and national conferences, presenting on one of her other passions: transgender health care. Mrs. Cruz-Beniasians has been an HIV prevention speaker for Gilead since 2019, began working with Gilead as an HIV prevention medical scientist, and is now an HIV treatment medical scientist covering central-to-north Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.
