Ms. Abbey Fritz is a senior associate with Sandberg, Phoenix & von Gontard, P.C., in the health law practice group, focusing her practice on defending correctional health care companies and correctional medicine providers in Illinois and Missouri. Ms. Fritz dedicates herself to providing thorough and in-depth legal services while counseling her clients who face the unique and immensely challenging work of providing health care in a correctional setting. While her adept legal research and writing skills have frequently resulted in dismissals before trial, she has also conducted a federal jury trial resulting in a complete defense verdict. Ms. Fritz's dedication to her clients and cases and never-give-up attitude continues on in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals where she has successfully briefed and argued a variety of legal issues central to correctional medicine. Prior to practicing in the area of civil litigation, she spent two years working at the Madison County State's Attorney's Office as an intern prosecutor where she conducted several successful misdemeanor bench trials. She also spent two years interning for the Illinois Innocence Project. These two experiences helped provide a well-rounded perspective on the legal system which she brings into her daily practice defending correctional health care workers.
