Dr. Jordan practiced internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic prior to bringing her advocacy and management skills to the District of Columbia Department of Corrections to effect systems improvement and enhance clinical care. She has overseen the strengthening of suicide prevention efforts, implemented comprehensive auditing and contract management practices, led the Pharmacy Modernization Project and the Medicaid at Intake Initiative, overseen the development of the Mental Health Step-Down Unit, expanded MAT, instituted the yoga and mindfulness program, and is leading the development of the Women's Wellness Unit, a therapeutic housing unit focusing on the comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder needs of female residents. Dr. Jordan is also leading efforts to provide a trauma-informed care lens through which all clinical practices will be provided.
