Mrs. Nury Marcelo is the director of medical operations at DuPage County Correctional Center. She is also the president and CEO of Nova Correctional Solutions, Inc. She began her career at Advocate Masonic Medical Center in Chicago before joining the field of corrections. She has worked in correctional medicine for over seven years. A certified correctional registered nurse, she currently oversees medical operations at DuPage County Jail located in Wheaton, Ilinois, a facility that has received both ACA and NCCHC accreditation for over 30 years. In 2019, Mrs. Marcelo was recognized by the American Nurses Association as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader Award for her work and passion in correctional nursing. She currently holds a master's degree in nursing education and is pursuing a nurse practitioner degree at DePaul University to not only further her education, but ultimately to bring awareness to the field of correctional nursing.
