Ms. Shannon Roosma-Goldstein is a master's-prepared nurse with over 25 years working in public health, including a decade of those years in a correctional setting. Her current focus is nursing professional development and coordinating nurse orientation in the King County Jail in Seattle. Ms. Roosma-Goldstein has taught nursing, health studies and other undergraduate students at the university level for nearly 10 years. She is currently teaching at the University of Washington Bothell. Recently, Shannon created and taught an elective course at UWB, "Health care in Non-Traditional Settings: Corrections and Education" to provide a glimpse at the provision of health care within the largely invisible worlds of jails, prisons, and schools.
