Chad Jeremy Zawitz MD is an infectious disease specialist at Cermak Health Services and senior physician/clinical coordinator of HIV and infectious disease services with additional privileges at John H. Stroger Hospital and CORE Center, physician chair of Infection Control/Communicable Diseases Department, the director Infectious Diseases, and director of Tuberculosis Screening and Treatment Program. Dr Zawitz studied medicine at Rush Medical University Medical Center in Chicago. He then studied general internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after which he completed a fellowship in infectious disease at Rush Medical University Medical Center. He is a member of the Human Rights Campaign, the Academy of Correctional Health Professionals, and the International AIDS Society. Dr Zawitz has presented at national meetings and written articles about HIV in the correctional setting.
