Dr. Regina Williams has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. She began her professional health care career at Parkland Hospital in 1994 as a health unit coordinator in the emergency room. Dr. Williams received her bachelor's and master's of science degrees in nursing with a concentration in health care administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Williams received her doctorate in nursing practice, focusing on health care administration, from Capella University. She currently serves as the vice-chair for the board of directors at Cars for Kids and was recently appointed by Dallas County judge Clay Jenkins to the Ryan White Planning Council for Dallas. Dr. Williams has made significant contributions to clinical excellence in correctional health by decreasing nursing vacancy rates to less than 1% with no contract labor and has increased visibility of correctional health within the organization.
