Dr. Doug Major is a neuro-optometrist who practices at the San Luis Obispo County Jail. He has provided vision care in federal, state, and county correctional facilities for adults and at-risk youth and has been involved in research at multiple sites. Dr. Major has presented at numerous international meetings. He was the national co-chairman for the College of Optometry’s Visual Development Juvenile Delinquency Committee and is a group leader volunteer at the Atascadero State Mental Hospital. He also founded the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association's Justice Treatment Committee and is involved with the local NAMI chapter.
