Ms. Mary Muse is a correctional health care consultant, collaborating with correctional institutions, nursing boards, academic institutions and others to address and improve health care. Her achievements include increasing the visibility and voice of correctional nursing, inspiring the practice, increasing nurse certification, implementing evidence-based nurse educational programs, addressing issues of moral distress, ethical caring, racism, and advocating for leadership development. Ms. Muse has contributed to advancing the field by focusing on patient centered care. She has been instrumental in shaping policy to elevate practice. She developed Muse's Framework for Correctional Nursing and is the founder of the American Correctional Nurses Association.
