Ms. Deborah Nichols serves as the epidemiologist for the Indiana Department of Correction and is a founding member of the Indiana Peer Education Program’s Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes. She previously worked in various positions at the Indiana Department of Health for 7 years, ending as the deputy surveillance program director. Ms. Nichols received her MPH in epidemiology from the Indiana University School of Medicine and MS in geology from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. She has worked in both the private and public sectors throughout her career, both stateside and overseas, and is interested in how data can be used to address health disparities.
