This pilot survey reports real-world experience for self-administered dexmedetomidine sublingual film for acute treatment of agitation in adults with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Most institutions did not require agitation management protocols or use severity assessment tools. Observed and desired treatment outcomes aligned for speed of treatment and tolerability rating. DSF ratings compared favorably to oral and injectable treatments.
