Deborah Ash is the CEO and owner of Correctional Medical-Legal Consulting (CMLC). Ms. Ash is a registered nurse and legal nurse consultant with masters' degrees in nursing and in business administration. She has also earned a CCHP-RN. Ms. Ash has 13 years of experience in the correctional medical setting. Over the past seven years, Ms. Ash has provided depositions and expert witness testimony as a legal nurse consultant in the correctional field. She has managed medical programs in both jails and prisons across 14 states.

After working for large medical vendors over for 12 years, Ms. Ash found a more cost-effective way to deliver quality health care to the incarcerated and started her own company in 2021. Her area of expertise include training, policy and procedure writing, regulatory interpretation and implementation, staff analysis, budgeting, problem solving, site accreditation, and the medical RFP and bid process. Ms. Ash is recognized as a speaker at the local, state, and national level. Deb has involved with NCCHC since 2009 and a speaker at NCCHC conferences since 2014. She is honored to be speaking again this year.
