Colorado State Representative
Hon. Judy Amabile represents the people of Colorado House District 49, which includes the western part of Boulder County, as well as Clear Creek, Gilpin, and rural Larimer Counties. In two House terms, Representative Amabile has brought effective solutions to bear on issues like mental health care resources, gun safety, climate action, environmental protection, reproductive rights, the economy, and criminal justice reform. She has achieved significant progress on issues impacting Colorado's most vulnerable and forgotten residents, including incarcerated people and those suffering from serious mental illnesses. Rep. Amabile is a lifelong Democrat and nearly lifelong Coloradan. She is a mother of three adult sons. For 25 years, she served as the founder and operator of Polar Bottle, a manufacturer of sport water bottles. Her leadership roles in the Colorado General Assembly include Chair of the Business Affairs & Labor Committee; Member of the Public & Behavioral Health & Human Services Committee; Member of the Appropriations Committee; Chair of the Oversight Board for the Treatment of Persons with Mental Health Disorders in the Criminal Justice System Committee; Chair of the Oversight Board for the Colorado Jail Standards Commission; and Vice Chair of the Colorado Recidivism Taskforce.
