This program will provide an overview of the theoretical framework from which motivational interviewing was developed, the core principles that drive motivational interviewing's effectiveness, the basic structure and goals of a motivational interviewing session, and an exploration of several focused brief motivational interviewing interventions that target problematic behaviors exhibited by individuals involved in the juvenile legal system.
