P07 Jail-Based Medication-Assisted Treatment: Planning, Implementation, and Improvement*
Description

Individuals with opioid use disorder are disproportionately represented in correctional facilities relative to the general population. Medication-assisted treatment, considered the gold standard of care for OUD and repeatedly shown to increase positive health outcomes, has been increasingly offered in jails in recent years. However, challenges arise when implementing and running a jail-based MAT program. This session will include a review of current research on MAT in correctional facilities and an overview of essential program components. 3.5 CE credits  Educational Objectives
