Hepatitis C is one of the top 10 prevalent diseases among justice-involved patients in the United States. Educating patients about hepatitis C is crucial in managing the spread of the disease. Using the AHRQ teach-back method, nursing students provided information on the modes of transmission, risk factors, and self-management measures. Patients "taught back" to the nursing students what they understood about the disease and appropriate management measures.
