Dr. Joel Andrade is a correctional and forensic mental health professional with nearly three decades of experience in clinical practice, research, and education. He holds doctoral and master’s degrees in social work from Boston College and has published and presented extensively on topics including violence risk assessment, psychopathy, suicide prevention, self-injurious behavior, gender dysphoria, and alternatives to restrictive housing. Dr. Andrade is editor of The Handbook of Violence Risk Assessment: New Approaches for Mental Health Professionals and is widely recognized for his contributions to correctional mental health and forensic practice.
