Ms. Madyn Kenney is the surveillance coordinator for the healthcare-associated infections (HAI) program at the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Kenney recently completed her MPH, which included a project for the CDC’s Health Disparities Grant. Through this work Madyn and her colleagues explored gaps in infection prevention within correctional settings in New Hampshire, educated correctional officers on the importance of infection prevention, and provided correctional settings with resources that included, but were not limited to, education, training, and sanitizing equipment. The CDC has partnered with New Hampshire’s HAI program to bring the lessons learned and methods used in this project to the national level.
