Dr. Veronica Kwarteng-Amaning serves as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital in Galveston. She began her nursing career at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she advanced through a series of clinical leadership roles before transitioning into health care administration. Dr. Kwarteng-Amaning earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UTMB, a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, and a PhD from the UTMB School of Biomedical Sciences. She is recognized for her commitment to innovation, workforce development, and advancing nursing leadership in complex health care environments.
