125 How Intake Screening Is Vital to Reducing Legal Liability*
Description

As the first interaction between an inmate and medical staff, the intake screening is critical. It reveals the strengths and weaknesses of the facility and its medical provider, and presents an opportunity to flag both acute concerns, such as intoxication, and chronic issues like hypertension and behavioral abnormalities. It is a time to identify areas of liability and stop them before they develop into lawsuits.
