Dr. Stephanie Gangemi is an assistant professor in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and a licensed clinical social worker. She brings more than 17 years of professional practice and teaching experience, including over a decade in correctional mental health. Dr. Gangemi has worked in leadership and clinical roles at Rikers Island and served as Director of Mental Health for the El Paso County Jail in Colorado. Her research focuses on the correctional health care workforce, including staff training, professional experiences, and workforce well-being. She is the recipient of the international Seidenberg Paper Prize for her work addressing challenges within correctional systems.
