Dr. Christine Gomes is a clinical psychologist providing mental health services and clinical supervision within the Washington State Department of Corrections. She began her career working for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services at the Special Commitment Center. In this position, she provided treatment to a diverse population of individuals who had been identified by the state as sexually violent predators. She was hired by the Department of Corrections in 2015, where she spent approximately five years in a leadership and consulting role in the Sex Offender Treatment and Assessment Program. While in this role, she was identified as one of DOC's Employees of the Year in 2018. In 2019, she began working for the Mental Health Department in Washington DOC. She has professional interests in trauma treatment, particularly treatments based on polyvagal theory.
