Ms. Veronica Kwarteng-Amaning began her nursing career at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing. As a registered nurse, she demonstrated leadership in patient care, team development, and clinical operations. Ms. Kwarteng-Amaning later earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake while serving as a clinical operations administrator. She subsequently completed a PhD at the University of Texas Medical Branch Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She is the associate chief nursing officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital in Galveston, where she provides strategic oversight of nursing operations and leads initiatives to improve quality, safety, and patient care.
