112 Seeing Clearly: Medical Conditions That Mimic Psychiatric Disorders*
Description
Within the correctional arena where medical conditions overlap with psychiatric diagnoses and mental health conditions, coming to an accurate working diagnosis can be a challenge. Assumptions, implicit bias, and insufficient information can lead to misdiagnosis and potentially poor outcomes. In this session, review of medical conditions mimicking psychiatric conditions, and psychiatric symptoms exacerbated by poorly controlled medical conditions, will be highlighted through clinical vignettes.
