Dr. Justin Berk is a physician who has cared for patients in Rhode Island's jails and prisons since 2020 as a staff physician and as Medical Director of the state Department of Corrections from 2020-2022. He directs Brown University Health's Center for Health and Justice Transformation and leads NIH-funded studies of opioid use disorder and hepatitis C treatment in correctional settings. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles. He is Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Brown University, a Certified Correctional Health Professional–Clinical Provider, and board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Addiction Medicine.
