Whether it’s an individual medical emergency, an altercation, structural failures, or a natural disaster, an immediate response and decisive action are necessary to maintain custody, provide care, and establish control. In this session, learn how NCCHC standards and best practices, combined with structured emergency response protocols, collaborative training and tactics, and efforts to analyze and improve staff performance, will enhance your staff’s response to emergency incidents within your facility and ensure the best possible outcome when an emergency occurs.

  • Identify the main components of an emergency response plan, including after-action critiques.
  • Compare and contrast man-down drills and mass disaster drills, and the methodology for conducting them.
  • Discuss the importance of planning, preparation, and training between health services and custody staff.
