110 Preventing the Spread of Communicable Diseases
Description

The pandemic provided insight into the effect of communicable diseases in correctional health care and the challenges faced by jails when a disease spreads. This presentation will discuss the role of correctional staff as part of an infection control team. It will include the importance of an infection and prevention control program, application of basic infection prevention and control, identification of the most common communicable diseases and their symptoms, as well as surveillance and interventions needed to prevent transmission.
