Ms. Gallo is a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Austin with over 20 years of experience. The first 10 years of her career was spent working in a variety of psychiatric facilities from acute inpatient hospital settings to long term care psychiatric facilities. Ms. Gallo began her correctional health care journey working for the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department in 2014. Her previous clinical experience in psychiatric facilities assisted with the transition to practicing in a correctional facility. While there, she had a leadership role managing the medical team at the detention and residential facilities. In 2017, Ms. Gallo began her career with the Travis County Sheriff's Department as the Director of Inmate Medical Services. Ms. Gallo oversees the medical team at the Travis County Jail and the Travis County Correctional Complex. She is actively involved in patient care and is deeply committed to collaboration with the mental health team and her partners in corrections to provide the best possible outcome for the people in custody with TCSO.
