314 Prediction of Violence: Safer Management Using a Team Approach
Description
Those who work with an incarcerated population must understand the risks of the corrections environment and partner with custody to safely and effectively to manage crises. This talk will present the basics of violent behavior and the mental health diagnoses and research associated with prediction of violent behavior in adults. It also will describe strategies that have proven useful in a program at Passaic County Jail that reduced Use of Force incidents in the inmate population by 25% in the first year of its implementation.
