Cognitive biases affect the ability to accurately diagnosis and properly treat patients. With every misdiagnosis comes the potential for litigation, the often irreparable costs of patient morbidity and mortality, and loss of faith in clinical medicine. Clinicians need to identify their own cognitive biases and develop strategies to reduce the impact on patient outcomes. This interactive presentation will feature open discussion to shine a light on this insidious problem.
