Poster 3 Behavioral Treatments for Chronic Insomnia within Corrections
Description
Stimulus control therapy and sleep restriction therapy are effective time limited behavioral treatments for chronic insomnia generally sequenced in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). Sleep scheduling preceding these behavioral interventions has demonstrated efficacy alone. In addition, modifications to accommodate limitations such as counter control therapy have also demonstrated efficacy. In correctional settings, restrictions regarding movement and property may limit the feasibility of these treatments and modifications may allow for effective behavioral treatments.
