Dr. Lluberes is a double board-certified psychiatrist trained in general psychiatry at University of Texas in Houston who specialized in community psychiatry and forensic psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh, Western Psychiatry Institute and Clinic. In 2016, Dr. Lluberes received the "APA award For the Advancement of Minority Mental Health" for raising awareness in underserved minority communities about mental illness. For the last seven years, Dr. Lluberes has been a leader within the correctional system providing care for the most vulnerable patients, the incarcerated mentally ill. She is currently the clinical director at the Wayne Scott Unit, previously known as Jester 4, a 550-bed psychiatric hospital that serves the Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison population in East Texas.
