For over 26 years, Mr. Sanchez has been a leader in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.  His current assignment  is Warden  at the McConnell Unit in Beeville Texas.  He joined the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in July of 1995 as a Correctional Officer at the Connally Unit. Since then,  Jerry has worked at 11 facilities and been promoted through the ranks, serving as a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Assistant Warden and Senior Warden. He served as an Assistant Warden at three facilities and Senior Warden at three.  Mr. Sanchez has been involved in multiple evacuations during hurricane seasons in Region III. He has served as a Disaster District Representative for District 16B. He was one of the first strike team leaders to be deployed for mass testing. He traveled from West Texas to East Texas testing multiple facilities in between.   As he has grown throughout his career with the agency he has also grown in his level of compassion and understanding for those who he leads. Mr. Sanchez is thankful and blessed for the opportunities and experiences provided by the agency.
