Suicide continues to be a leading cause of death in correctional facilities, representing a serious public health problem, and one that is preventable in many cases. This seminar will provide an overview of inmate suicide and offer guiding principles for suicide prevention as part of a trauma-informed and comprehensive system of care. Critical components of an effective system will be identified to develop and/or revise suicide prevention policies. 3.5 CE credits
