Dr. Khadija Alshowaikh is a Women's Health Institute Intern and a member of the New Jersey Commission on Women's Reentry Services, dedicated to supporting women's health in prison. She earned her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Bahrain where she first witnessed the burden of healthcare disparities on communities. Her personal experiences in health care led her to discover her professional objectives: alleviating health inequities. She is passionate about working for vulnerable, underserved, and marginalized populations. Dr. Alshowaikh believes that we can create and facilitate the change we hope to see in healthcare through collaborative and innovative research and evidence-based solutions.
