Dr. Tripoli, a recently retired Rear Admiral in the United States Navy, brings a wealth of experience as a medical executive with decades of high-level experience in US government and private-sector medicine. He most recently completed an assignment as Command Surgeon for United States Indo-Pacific Command, the most senior medical executive overseeing health in the world’s largest and strategically most important Combatant Command, supervising health support for military operations and health protection for more than 355,000 service members. He revised and implemented the Pandemic and Emerging Infectious Disease Plan for the US Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility while overseeing approval of $109 million in grants to develop effective countermeasures against COVID-19. Dr. Tripoli has held several prominent leadership positions in private and military medical establishments including Chief Medical Officer at Prominence Health, Reno NV; Officer in Charge of the Navy Expeditionary Medical Unit at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany; Medical Director, MedImpact Health Services, San Diego, CA; Chief Medical Officer of Correctional Medical Services, St. Louis, MO; and Senior Medical Officer, United States Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN. He served in combat in Fallujah, Iraq, with the United States Marine Corps as a Medical and Public Health Officer.
